Questions And Answers

Q.  Why don't you have a phone number on your website for customers to use?     A.  We had a phone number on our website for a while.  But we received very few calls for orders and many many calls  where either someone was trying to sell us something or someone wanted information on spurs.  This is an on-line store and the bulk of our communication can be  done via e-mail.  We run this store from our ranch and are often not available by phone.  E-mail is the fastest way to communicate with us and saves us time.   If you can not place your order on-line or find it necessary to to talk to us.  Please e-mail us with your phone number & the reason you are calling and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Q.  Are your spurs and spur straps sold in pairs?   A.  Most  of our spurs and spur straps are sold in pairs.  If we are selling any single spurs or straps the spur or spur strap will be listed as a single in the description.

Q. Will you ship to countries outside the United States?  A.  Yes, we ship to customers outside of the USA.  Please review our International Policies before ordering.

Q.  Should Western Spurs be buckled on the outside of the boot or the inside of the boot?   A.  Whether to fasten spur straps on the inside or outside of the boot is really a matter of  choice an or custom.    ---Here in Utah and nearby Colorado, all working cowboys that I know prefer to buckle the straps on the inside of the boot.  Their reasoning is that "while riding in brushy country you are more likely to have a the buckle catch in the brush and unfasten itself when the strap is fastened on the outside of the boot -thus losing your spur."  However, I have been told that "in Texas, the working cowboys fasten their straps on the outside of the boot and only "Dudes" fasten straps on the inside of the boot."  I checked in a book with pictures of cowboys from the 1890's.  Of the pictures that showed the spur straps most of the straps were buckled on the inside of the boot.  Only in the picture of the Texas drover were the straps fastened on the outside.    --We know of recreational horse people who fasten the straps and the inside and others who fasten them on the outside.    --The design on a fancy set of spur straps can be seen better if the main strap is on the outside of the boot and the buckle on the inside.  The only exception would be straps with a fancy buckle that you want to show off, so you would fasten it on the outside.
--So it's really a matter of choice unless the custom where you live dictates otherwise.
